A challenge for the casting industry today is the need for increasingly lightweight castings of high surface quality, with greater flexibility and simpler handling in the casting processes, and lower environmental impact. To achieve these requirements, casting structures are becoming more complex while the needs for accuracy and material strength increase.  With a commitment to innovation, Mingzhi Technology, as a leading producer of core shop equipment and cores for over 20 plus years, has developed the Precision Core Package Technology (PCP) to address the increasing demands of high precision complex castings.

What exactly is PCP? The Precision Core Package is a technology which uses the core shooting machine itself to make both the core molds and the cores to be assembled and form the complete mold ready for pouring. The high precision characteristics of the PCP technology from Mingzhi offer great advantages over the traditional sand molding method such as green sand, no bake and shell molding:

  • Complex high quality castings: such as cylinder blocks and heads, turbo charger, heat exchangers with an optimal surface quality (Ra≤12.5~25) and dimensional accuracy (up to CT8 level or above)
  • Flexible Production Processes including small batch production with a single machine or mass production using vertical, horizontal or unlimited flexible processes in the production line
  • Investment Savings due to reduced equipment, sand treatment and space needed, as well no need for a complex foundation.
  • Lower running costs through low consumption of water, electricity and air, high dimensional accuracy at low material consumption, 90-99% sand recycling through thermal sand regeneration and low maintenance cost

The PCP technology can be used for casting steel, ductile iron, alloy gray iron, aluminum, magnesium  and various other materials, and is particularly suited for volume production of casting with complex inner cavities.
